The Fair, held at Curtin Primary School, organised and run solely by volunteers, is one of Canberra’s longest running school community events. Post COVID, it has taken 5 years to rebuild the volunteer base and get the event back up and running.
Felix Creative supported the Curtin Twilight Fair by working closely with various stakeholders, and the ACT Government. Together, we developed a sustainability theme and rebranded the event as "Bright Futures," a celebration of children's growth and the promise of tomorrow.
We were asked to help bring a renewed identity for the fair to life, developing a campaign strategy to generate awareness for the local community, volunteers and sponsors. Our involvement spanned strategic advice, narrative, marketing advice, creative direction, social media management and volunteer support for a period of over six months.
The Curtin Twilight Fair has long been an important fixture within the Curtin community.
The design identity for the Curtin Twilight Fair was created with inclusivity in mind, appealing to audiences of all ages and literacy levels. The bold, triangular elements of the logo stem from the client's own brand identity and, when placed in a circular formation, evoke imagery of a setting sun, food stall umbrellas, or seats on a fair ride. This dynamic and versatile design was not only visible to passing traffic but also translated seamlessly into digital assets and local shop displays.
The event was opened by the Governor-General, a former school captain, and exceeded fundraising goals with thousands in attendance. Felix Creative, as the community sponsor, provided these services pro bono. We loved this project!
